  • After retrieving your number, make sure to write it down for future reference.

Steps to Check Your MTN Number

To check your MTN number:

  1. Dial *156#.
  2. Select option 1 (Check My Number).
  3. You’ll receive an alert that says, “y’ello, your phone number is 233xxxxxxxxx.”

Other Ways to Check Your MTN Number

1. Check the Starter Pack (SIM Case)

Look at your SIM card starter pack. Every new SIM comes with a starter pack or case. Your phone number, PUK code, and serial number are written on the plastic case that holds the SIM. Keep this card safe for future reference.

2. Send an SMS to a Friend

If you have some airtime or an SMS bundle, send a short message to a friend. Your number will appear as the sender on their phone.

3. Call Someone

You can also call a friend or relative and ask them to tell you the number that appears when you call.

4. Call 100

As a last resort, you can contact MTN customer care by dialing 100. Ask to speak with an agent, and once connected, request your telephone number. The agent will mention it to you, so be sure to write it down.

By using any of these methods, you’ll always know how to retrieve your MTN number whenever needed!
